TrailManners
The TrailManners crew is from the beautiful trails in Ogden, Utah and we’re here to connect you to wherever trail, ultra and mountain running takes us. We’ll chat with amazing athletes, discuss the latest trends and get you stoked for your next trail adventure. We will have interviews, gear reviews, race reports, LOTS of podcasts, contests and loads of entertainment from beers of the week, random bigfoot sightings, race updates and everything in between. TrailManners is about capturing the moment: the possibility that everyday has the potential to be the best day of your life. Every day. We promise to always bring our passion and love for the trails as well as a healthy appetite for cheese curds and a solid IPA. We want to thank you for taking this journey with us. Aric W. When we arrived he served up some Dirty Chai's and it was game on. With the chance of sounding like a broken record- Canice is an amazing guy and you can just feel how passionate he is about what he does. He has established an absolutely amazing run store while keeping the community in mind. It was an absolute pleasure to get to know Canice and hear the story of PCRC as well as talk about his own story of comebacks and running. Good Luck at Western States Canice- GO GET IT!

Episode #17- Crewing a race
Tuesday Mar 08, 2016
Tuesday Mar 08, 2016
We are BACK IN THE BUS- Studio 78 never felt so good. The bus braved the rain and pulled into the Beus Trailhead in beautiful Ogden, Utah for a fun show. After we cover some of the basics we got right after it.
Special guest- Crew Master/Studio78 repairman and all around good guy Lane Farka joined us to cover the ins and outs of crewing. Last week we covered pacing so the next logical step would be the best way to crew your runner. Although there is no "perfect" way to do it- we try to discuss the things that can make it a success. Being a part of a crew means you are part foot doctor, treasure map reader, nutritionist, cab dancer, motivational speaker, time manager and responsible friend. It may not all be roses and rainbows but to see your runner reach their goal is priceless.
Don't forget to leave a reply on Facebook for a chance to win a free entry into the Beaverhead 100k or 50k.
Also, don't forget to share the show and invite your friends to listen!
And lastly- make sure you come by and say HELLO at the Antelope Island races- Studio 78 will be there and we we be doing some interviews.

Episode #16- Pacing and another TM contest
Monday Feb 29, 2016
Monday Feb 29, 2016
After we catch up on some local weekly news we jump right into a topic that is dear to our hearts- pacing. Now pacing a trail/ultra race is a totally different ball game than pacing at a road race.
How do you select a pacer? What makes a good pacer? What are a pacers duties? Pacing pros and cons? Pacer preparations? Do you need a pacer? Is there pacing pressure? Pacer gifts? Car drops?
We dive into all these topics and hope to answer some questions and entertain you at the same time. Make sure you listen to the end so you can jump in and participate in the next TM contest. We look forward to hearing those great pacer stories!
Thanks for listening...enjoy!

Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
Tuesday Feb 23, 2016
Did you miss us? We sure missed you. After an amazing trip to DC we are back and firing on all cylinders. We thought we would start by catching up on a few race results from Moab and Black Canyon. A couple early season races in amazing places. Congrats to those who punched tickets to the "big dance"- Western States 100 and all those who got out.
We had to take a few minutes to give a huge thanks and shout out to Mr. Jim Skaggs from Buffalo Run Adventures for all his support and help through the years. The Buffalo Run is fast approaching and registration closes on February 29th. Don't put it off any longer- register! The island is a magical place to run and the finish line party is crazy fun- plus you can get some amazing Buffalo Stew.
We close it out with some tips from our very own Joel Hatch on strength training. He throws out some great advice and helps answer a few questions to get started.
Thanks again for listening and don't forget to visit the site soon for some great TrailManners gear!

When trouble hits the trail community people really step up. We had to say goodbye to yet another amazing person. It is humbling and inspiring to see so many people ready to do whatever is needed to help. There is also a new contest that we hope you participate in. Use Instagram to post a photo of you on a peak and do the silly hashtag thing- #trailmanners and at the end of February we will draw a name for some awesome prizes. We also get into other training tools from strength and conditioning to recovery and "staying on the books". We are hoping for a very interactive show from our listeners- so listen up and get back to us about: training tools, our Instagram contest, 2016 resolution and please help Joel pick his 2016 fall 100 mile race.As always- thanks for listening and be safe out there!Show NotesCurrent NewsInstagram Contest More training toolsLightingJoel needs a fall 100Links for workouts:Great KB Swing Demohttps://youtu.be/GYHbu2LRqD0The Myrtl Routinehttps://youtu.be/2GLrKr54yA0Core Xhttps://youtu.be/bhjtGRZX8j0Core Hhttps://youtu.be/WeZ_1rYYnjI

TrailManners
I feel extremely fortunate to have been involved with the trail running community since 2006. Whether it is running, racing, podcasting, race directing, being a team manager, product testing, HUMR founder or a volunteer- the friendships I have forged with so many amazing people will always be my greatest memories. Mountains and trails are my passions and I can’t say no to a good adventure.
Bringing TrailManners to life has been life changing and a dream come true. I am so happy Joel Hatch and I started this journey- now let’s see where else it can take us.
