With all the buzz around a recent article put out by iRunFar written by Luke Nelson we knew we had to get him on again. Unfortunately we had to do it via Google Hangouts so the sound isn't what we hoped it would be. As we still work on dialing that in- the info we talk about with Luke needs to be heard. You can head over to iRunFar and read the article HERE. With the growth of our sport and more and more people getting out to enjoy the backcountry- Luke's article should make us all stop and think. We would love to hear your comments and views.
We also planted a seed on a great idea we had: Backcountry Survival weekend by Luke Nelson. I can't wait- :)

Well we had big plans of doing a show after the SMUT race this past Saturday but unfortunately we were toast. The heat and race took its toll so after about an hour of sitting around trying to regroup we called it and started the drive back home. We had a great time seeing some familiar faces and new ones and as always enjoyed our journey in the mountains.
During this show will we recap the race and just talk trails.

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Unfortunately Joel is under the weather so that means Aric is going solo. We announce the winner of the contest from Episode 29 and talk about a few new policies from Hardrock 100 and Western States 100.
Aric dives into some random topics and TrailManners needs some feedback and insight from its listeners in regards to great music, running sunglasses and questions to answer for the new trail runner. Sit back relax and enjoy the show....and of course- thank you all so much for your support!

Episode 30 was a blast. We had the pleasure of having Eric Johnson on the show and he provided us with some great insight. Eric is a truly remarkable person and amazing runner. He ran his first Wasatch 100 in 1992 and then took 10 years off before completing it 10 more times and countless other races. This year he ran the Iditarod 1000....yes 1000 miles on the Iditarod course in Alaska. He hit the start line with 5 other people and finished in 26 days 18 hours and 49 minutes. We talk about running, racing and life. Thank you Eric and we are very excited to get you back on the show.

We had a great chance to get Matt on the schedule via Google Hangouts to talk to him about his amazing films. Although we need to still do some tweaking to the process, we think Matt sounded great. His first to films are incredible, first- Running the Edge: The Colorado Trail and now the newly released- Kissing the Rock. He does such an amazing job or telling these stories and allowing the viewer an inside look to not just the characters but the mystique surrounding them. We encourage everyone to not just watch them both but schedule a showing in your area.
Matt mentions his next project and we can't wait to get him back on the show as it draws near.
CONTEST ALERT:
If Matt did a film about TrailManners- what should it be called?
Submit your answers via our Facebook page for a chance to win a TrailManners Visor or hat of your choice! Aric & Joel will pick the winner and announce it on an upcoming show. Contest ends Wednesday May 25th.

Alright folks- you spoke we listened. After the Best of last week we got some feedback and decided to throw out the #2 show- Luke Nelson. Is it a coincidence that these 2 shows were shot the same day, same location and pretty much the same time?
Enjoy the show- next week we are back to game on!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are jumping head first into a new world for us here at TrailManners....Google Hangouts. We have so many people we want to talk to and getting face to face is nearly impossible so we tried our first show through the web. While we are happy with ho it turned out we know we can dial it in more. Thank you for your patience.
We are thrilled to have on one of our favorite guests for a second time- Ty Draney. He is everything that the sport embodies. He recently headed to Tennessee to have a go at The Barkley Marathon. Have a listen to the show to hear a little bit more about his experience.

Here on the TrailManners podcast we seem to always be talking about "our guy"- you know the one that helps keep our body working and on the trails. Well we booked some time for Nate to join us to talk about what he does and why we need it. Nate is our unicorn, the almost mystical person who people love but decide not to drop the name too much so "our guy" isn't to busy for us.
He is no stranger to athletes- he was once a semi-pro football player and has worked on olympians, collegiate stars, key local athletes and of course the running community. He has been seen at the Hardrock 100, Wasatch 100, Bear 100 and the Buffalo Run to name a few.
We all need "our guy" or "our gal" to help us reach our goals and have a healthy life.
We would love to hear who you have in your area so send us a message and we can pass it along.
Enjoy the show everyone and THANK YOU for supporting us.

It has been pretty easy to start a show saying we have a special guest but this episode reached a new level. Friend and local runner Kelsy Bingham has met challenges head on- NCAA Division I women basketball- Sweet 16, pro cycling, motherhood and being a new trail runner but less than 5 months ago she found out she had a rare form of cancer and a new challenge to take on.
We see so much negativity and heart ache everyday so being able to sit down with Kelsy and have her tell us her story is so inspiring. We knew her story but after we walked away from this show we were in awe. She is as tough as they come and as humble as you can be. Kelsey, thank you for sharing this with us and we look forward to sharing the trails with you soon- you are amazing!

When we talk to a guest we have never met or spoken to, we get a little nervous. After Amy sat down we knew we were going to have a gem of a show on our hands. Amy came down from Great Falls, MT to run her 1st ever 50 mile trail race. Soon as she finished she came on over and sat down for a show that was full of laughs. Our 4th show from the island will not disappoint. Thanks Amy for putting up with us and good luck in your future endeavors.

She did it! Jacquie King finished her first 50 mile trail race and within 5 minutes we had her behind the mic and getting her thoughts on the day. It was great to get in her head and listen to what she had to say about her race, beer, quitting her "adulting job" and future goals for racing. Thanks Jacquie and good luck moving forward.

Studio 78 may not have wanted to go to the island but the crew here at TrailManners wasn't going to miss it. We were excited to be there and to grab a few people to talk too after a finish.
Our first guest we got behind the mic was Leslie Howlett and she was coming off a solid 5:01 finish in the 50k.
