Episode #80 is loaded with some local brew, delicious deep fried cheese curds and a two-time guest: Melissa Solomon. If you remember we had Melissa first on for Episode #76 where she told us here amazing story into running and her new life. She let it slip out that she was running her first 100 mile race and we warned her she would need to come back on and give us play by play. Well, she agreed and thus we have another fun time sitting down with Melissa!

Jeff Hart is training for his first attempt at the Hardrock 100 and TrailManners is going to talk to him all the way up to and after the race. Part of a new series we will be doing is checking in with Jeff to see how his training is going, his mindset, goals, fears and all things associated with the race. If you have a question you want to ask for the next time we get together- shoot it over.

With the 25th running of the Chuckanut 50k happening this weekend we thought it would be a great time to talk to the amazing RD- Krissy Moehl. Krissy was kind enough (and patient enough) to join us for a podcast over the phone. Being in the final stages of preparation we cannot thank Krissy enough for taking the time to talk to us and give us all the details about the race and what the runners can expect. She has a couple other RD's helping and a load of volunteers to help make this event happen. Good Luck and we hope you all enjoy the show!

It's not everyday we get a chance to sit down with someone like Jared Campbell. He is not only one of the most accomplished ultra runners around but a true ambassador of our sport. We touch briefly on his race resume (Barkley, Wasatch) but we really wanted to get into his upcomng event: RUFA or Running Up for Air. Air quality in Utah and especially the Salt Lake valley during the winter is...well let's just say- horrible. When Jared was training for Barkely a few years ago he wanted to make running something more than just about himself. After some thought and talking with others he came up with RUFA.
Please have listen and check out the links below for more information. We hope to help Jared fill his event on Febraury 11th to help raise more awareness to this issue. Whether you do the 6, 12 or 24 hour event- it is sure to be a grand time. It isn't just about the running though- you can volunteer, donate or help spread the word.
TrailManners would like to not only thank Jared for his time but also for all he is doing.

Training for your first 100 mile trail race can be tough. Breaking your foot 9 months before your first 100 mile trail race can be frustrating. Running your first 100 mile trail race can be a overwhelming. Running your way to a 26:35 in one of the worst Bear 100's in history can be legendary!
When we heard Chelsea's story and her amazing accomplishment at this years Bear 100, we knew we had to get her on the show. Luck would have it and she agreed to sit down in Studio 78 to tell us her story. Congrats to Chelsea and all the people who toed the line at the Bear!

Its always great when your guests runs the rainy trails to get to Studio 78 for a show. During a solid little downpour, Trevor Fuchs (like books with an "F") jumped on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to meet up with us at 22nd st Trailhead for a very memorable show.
He grew up in Boulder with a history or running in his family but it wasn't until he started to get unhealthy that he really started to get after it.
We sat down with Trevor as he told the story of how he went on to win the Wasatch 100 by 3 seconds.
Thanks Trevor, we are sure we will see you on the trails.

Fall is in the AIR! We took Studio 78 to one of our favorite places to open up our junk drawer to record Singletrack Session #9. We jammed a lot of info into one show as you can see in the show notes.
We would like to make sure you see the link below for one of our friends and fellow bad ass trail runners from Boise. Ryan' s daughter has been in ICU since July. We can;t imagine what they are going through as a family but we wanted to show some support by posting the link to their GoFundMe page. While we were up at the El Vaquero Loco 50k we talked Leon Lutz into sitting down at a picnic table and grabbing a microphone in one of the most beautiful settings you will find.
If you haven't had the pleasure to meet Leon, he is one of the most genuine and recognizable people around.
Leon came to El Vaquero from Pennsylvania via the Outdoor Retailers Show is Salt Lake City, Utah.
Thank you Leon for taking the time to chat with TrailManners and we cannot wait to cross paths again.....maybe in the Northeast.
You can see more of Leon's writing HERE
