He Did It! We have been following Jeff Hart for the past 5 months as he prepared for the Hardrcok 100 and he was kind enough to swing by Ogden to jump into Studio 78 to give us a solid recap of the race. For Jeff it was the pinnacle of his trail running life and as he puts the race into words- you can see and hear the emotion as he recaps the journey.
Thank you Jeff for taking us along and Congrats on not only the Hardrock finish but also the engagement to Jen. You are a class act and someone who continues to inspire. On behalf of TrailManners and our listeners- we are proud to call you our friend!

Jeff Hart is coming to us live from Silverton, Colorado- home of the Hardrock 100. Much like the race, this episode is raw and uncut. We even get a guest appearance from Mr. James Varner. We have been keeping up with Jeff on his preparations and training for Hardrock and we are finally here. This show is the last time we get to talk to Jeff until after the race. We cannot thank him enough for taking us on this journey. Jeff -Good Luck and Thank you but most of all we all want you to "KISS IT".

This is the first time we have had a show interrupted by a rattlesnake but we battled through and kept recording. There was just too much to cover and we wanted to talk about WS100, Sink Canyon and the El Vaquero Loco 2017 Race entry contest.
Have a listen, enjoy and participate in the contest so we can see you at El Vaquero.

Did Dr. Manners IPA & Cheese Curd prescription work? With a little under 6 weeks until the 2017 Hardrock 100, Jeff Hart joins us for the third installment on his trail to Hardrock. Last time we had Jeff on he talked about battling inuries and the mental toll it was taking. This time around you can hear in his voice that he is feeling better and excited for the San Juans. Thanks again Jeff and good luck with the next month of Hardrock training.

We are back with Jeff Hart and Part 2 of his training road/trail to Hardrock. Jeff has been having a small bout with some niggling injuries but he still has his sights set on Silverton. We take a good look into some of the mentail games our mind and body can play. Thanks goodness we were there to prescribe some IPA and Cheese curds! Thanks again Jeff- we are rooting for you!

One of the things we really look forward to is when we can get some guests on the show that have been around the scene for awhile. The stories, the changes and the evolution of the sport are fascinating. Erik has been doing ultras since 2005 and his race resume speaks for itself. We were pumped to get him on the show to talk a little bit about the sport and its evolution but also talk about his experience over the last 2 years of heading out to run the Barkley Marathons.

Episode #80 is loaded with some local brew, delicious deep fried cheese curds and a two-time guest: Melissa Solomon. If you remember we had Melissa first on for Episode #76 where she told us here amazing story into running and her new life. She let it slip out that she was running her first 100 mile race and we warned her she would need to come back on and give us play by play. Well, she agreed and thus we have another fun time sitting down with Melissa!

Jeff Hart is training for his first attempt at the Hardrock 100 and TrailManners is going to talk to him all the way up to and after the race. Part of a new series we will be doing is checking in with Jeff to see how his training is going, his mindset, goals, fears and all things associated with the race. If you have a question you want to ask for the next time we get together- shoot it over.

With the 25th running of the Chuckanut 50k happening this weekend we thought it would be a great time to talk to the amazing RD- Krissy Moehl. Krissy was kind enough (and patient enough) to join us for a podcast over the phone. Being in the final stages of preparation we cannot thank Krissy enough for taking the time to talk to us and give us all the details about the race and what the runners can expect. She has a couple other RD's helping and a load of volunteers to help make this event happen. Good Luck and we hope you all enjoy the show!

It's not everyday we get a chance to sit down with someone like Jared Campbell. He is not only one of the most accomplished ultra runners around but a true ambassador of our sport. We touch briefly on his race resume (Barkley, Wasatch) but we really wanted to get into his upcomng event: RUFA or Running Up for Air. Air quality in Utah and especially the Salt Lake valley during the winter is...well let's just say- horrible. When Jared was training for Barkely a few years ago he wanted to make running something more than just about himself. After some thought and talking with others he came up with RUFA.
Please have listen and check out the links below for more information. We hope to help Jared fill his event on Febraury 11th to help raise more awareness to this issue. Whether you do the 6, 12 or 24 hour event- it is sure to be a grand time. It isn't just about the running though- you can volunteer, donate or help spread the word.
TrailManners would like to not only thank Jared for his time but also for all he is doing.
