We love talking to people after their first 100 mile trail race and this was no exception. We were lucky enough to sit down with Erin Hill to talk about her running of the 2018 Wasatch 100. Erin was nice enough to bring cheese curds, crackers and sweet tattoo arm sleeves for us. Man, we love our guests. Congrats to Erin on her incredible day! While we were down at the Capstone Races in St. George, UT, we cut our race short so we could set up our gear and sit down with the Legend- Dana "Mud n Guts" Miller before he took off. We may not have completed the half but we did half of the half and got to chat with one of the greats. Dana is a true legend and an absolutely amazing person. We are already looking forward to getting him back on the show. Thank you Dana!....Oh and did we mention he is no relation to Turd'l? Anytime we get a chance to talk to Turd'l we take it. There is never a dull moment so we need to take full advantage when we can. Not only do we enjoy having him on the show but we like to just sit in Studio 78 eating burritos, drinking beer and rockin puffies. We want to encourage everyone to come to St George the first weekend in December for a celebration of trail running at the Capstone races. See you all at "The Stone". The Wasatch 100 has another 2 time winner- Trevor Fuchs. We sit Trevor down in Studio 78 two days after another impressive win at the 2017 Wasatch 100. He pretty much ran at the front from the start and had a nearly flawless day. We cover the past year from working with a coach for the first time, running the inaugural Gib Wallace race (shameless plug) and getting married to his beautiful wife Tempest. Hanging out with Trevor is a blast and you can just see the love he has for trail running and the local trail community when he talks. After a little down time, Trevor will get right back on it for his trip to Hawaii in January 2018 for the running of the HURT 100....Good Luck! Thank you Trevor for taking the time to talk and thank you for the reminder to make sure we have fun out there on the trails. We are back with Episode #95 and Sarah McCloskey. Sarah epitomizes toughness and mental strength. Just by talking to her you can get a glimpse of why she is one hell of a mountain runner. The fact we lost our first show with her and she wasn't phased at all for the next try shows how she can take anything in stride and just keep moving. As she approaches another Wasatch 100 start we get to talk to her about her thoughts on crew, pacing and all things 100 related. We learned a lot from our guest and we can bet you can to. Thank you Sarah for not just sitting down with us but for being an amazing trail mentor to so many. One of the things we really look forward to is when we can get some guests on the show that have been around the scene for awhile. The stories, the changes and the evolution of the sport are fascinating. Erik has been doing ultras since 2005 and his race resume speaks for itself. We were pumped to get him on the show to talk a little bit about the sport and its evolution but also talk about his experience over the last 2 years of heading out to run the Barkley Marathons. Its always great when your guests runs the rainy trails to get to Studio 78 for a show. During a solid little downpour, Trevor Fuchs (like books with an "F") jumped on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to meet up with us at 22nd st Trailhead for a very memorable show. He grew up in Boulder with a history or running in his family but it wasn't until he started to get unhealthy that he really started to get after it. We sat down with Trevor as he told the story of how he went on to win the Wasatch 100 by 3 seconds. Thanks Trevor, we are sure we will see you on the trails.
